Ifeoma Anyansi is a junior at Duke University majoring in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Environmental Engineering. She is also pursuing a certificate in Markets & Management. This previous summer, Ife worked as a business development/marketing intern at a start-up promoted to increasing awareness to green issues and providing consumers with environmental-friendly clothing options. Now, she currently serves as the marketing director in the Junior Class Council that which is dedicated in uniting the class. For the previous two years she has worked as a tutor for America Reads & Counts program. Her knowledge of Spanish developed from an intense study abroad in Mexico in which she studied business systems helps bridge the language gap between her and her tutees. The Boeing Grand Challenges K12 Outreach Fellow’s Program in the Pratt School of Engineering complements her work life. She is excited to learn the Engineering’s Grand Challenges of the 21st century and pass the knowledge on to the youth in the Durham community. Her work this semester which consists of designing a green roof for a municipal building within Durham to be constructed this summer will be an invaluable experience she is looking forward to sharing with students. In addition, she has been recently accepted into the T. Howard Foundation final talent pool for this summer. Through this competitive internship program, she hopes to continue to gain relevant experience to launch her career involving both management and engineering.
