Sydney Jeffs
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Sydney is a junior Baldwin Scholar at Duke University where she is studying Biomedical Engineering and taking pre-health courses. Her interest in the Boeing K-12 Fellows program stems from her experiences tutoring elementary and middle school students in topics ranging from robotics to basic literacy skills.
In addition to her involvement with the Boeing Fellows Program, Sydney is a member of the GWHT Fellows in which she designs engineering curricula (specifically for building and designing flashlights) for children and adults in Kolkata, India. Last summer, she engaged in a Biomedical Engineering internship with a focus in regenerative medicine, and this coming summer she will travel to India through DukeEngage to implement the flashlight design curriculum. On campus, Sydney is involved with research in the West Lab and is a member of the Duke Honor Council.
