Major: Biomedical Engineering

Minors: Chemistry and Sociology

Morgan Simons is a junior biomedical engineering student who is concentrating in molecular, cellular, and tissue engineering and seeking minors in chemistry and sociology.  In the future, she hopes to use her degrees in medical school.  Morgan is not only a Boeing Fellow but a Pratt Fellow working with Dr. David Katz whose lab specializes in STD and contraceptive research.  In addition to her academic pursuits, Morgan also serves as Engineering Student Government’s Class of 2015 President and volunteers with several campus based organizations, including Partners for Youth and Adopt-A-Grandparent.

Morgan’s interest in the Boeing Fellows Grand Challenges K-12 Outreach Program stemmed from a love of sharing her interests in engineering with children and young adults. The Grand Challenges that Morgan is most personally drawn to are making solar energy economical, providing access to clean water, engineering better medicines, and enhancing personalized learning.
