Robert Vogel

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Robert Vogel is a senior at Duke University majoring in mechanical engineering with an aerospace certificate. He has held three engineering internships in the chemical, medical, and aerospace industries have exposed him to all steps of the product lifecycle, ranging from design and rapid prototyping to the manufacturing process.  

In the past, Rob has worked as an engineer on products as small heart valves 14 microns in diameter to Gulfstream G650’s with a 100-foot wingspan.  His past school projects have included creating an electromagnetic fuzzy logic controller that can levitate metal spheres, winning a self-regulating, sustainable greenhouse design competition, and creating a 240-pound combat robot for his senior design project.
